It is with great pleasure that I inform you that Catherine has been elected to the European parliament this evening.
The vote was very close and the tense nature of the evening was exacerbated by the crashing of many of the computers at the count in Southampton.
Catherine would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone across the region that worked so hard for her and Sharon in ensuring that two Liberal Democrat MEPs continued to represent the South East in the European parliament.
